review in: The British Clavichord Society, Newsletter n° 16, February 2000, p.17-19 by Paul Simmons:
"The same clavichord is used for all three disc. It is a large five-octave unfretted instrument based on Saxon models around 1770, made by the Belgian maker Joris Potvlieghe, and it is tuned to a pitch of A408. The instrument sounds well, with a full and reedy bass, a crisp sweet treble and all shades in between. It is particularly suited to the contrapuntal writing in the Prussian sonatas. I found it had sufficient sound variety to keep one's attention for lengthy listening periods (although the standard of the playing and the quality of the music itself have a lot to do with this as well!). Under Spanyi fingers this clavichord is capable of a wide range of dynamics. The positioning of the microphones has been particularly well judged. The instrument's internal resonance gives just the right feeling of distance, but absolutely no detail goes lost."
